Coverage

What is covered, and for how long

Labor is warranted 90 days. Genuine OEM parts are warranted 365 days from the date of installation.

Labor 90 days
Ninety days from the day the work is completed. If the same fault comes back inside that window, we return and re-do the work at no labor charge. You do not pay a second diagnostic for a repair that did not hold.
Parts 365 days
Three hundred and sixty-five days from the date the part is installed, on the part itself. A defective component inside the year is replaced.
Sourcing Genuine OEM
We fit manufacturer original components. Aftermarket parts are cheaper, and on a sealed system or a control board they are a false economy that we are not willing to sign our name to.
Diagnostic $129
A flat $129 diagnostic covers the visit and the diagnosis. It is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with the work.

The honest edges

What the warranty does not cover

Every warranty has a boundary. Here is ours, written down before you need it rather than after.

  • A different fault. If we replace an ice maker fill valve and the evaporator fan fails four months later, that is a new repair, not a warranty return.
  • Damage from a cause outside the repair — a storm surge on the power supply, a flooded cabinet base, or a knock that shifts a door out of alignment.
  • Consumables and maintenance items: water filters, light bulbs, grease filters, and the periodic condenser and hood cleaning that this coast makes necessary.
  • Work performed on the same appliance by someone else after our visit. We cannot warrant a repair we no longer control.
  • An appliance we advised against repairing, where you asked us to proceed anyway. We will do it, and we will note it on the estimate, but the labor warranty does not extend to a machine we told you was at the end of its run.

This is our warranty, not the manufacturer's

The coverage above is given and backed by Pier Street Appliance alone. It is not a manufacturer warranty, it is not administered by Thermador or BSH Home Appliances, and it creates no relationship between you and them.

If your appliance is still inside its original manufacturer coverage, call Thermador first. Warranty work has to be routed through the channel the manufacturer names, and having an outside shop open the machine can affect what they will cover afterwards. Use the free option while it exists — we will still be here when it expires.

Making a claim

Call the same number you used to book. Tell us the appliance, the date of the original visit and what it is doing now. We do not require the original paperwork, though it speeds things up, because we keep our own record of every job.

Sealed-system work carries its own requirement — EPA Section 608 certified technicians for sealed-system refrigerant work — because federal law demands that credential to handle refrigerant. It applies to a warranty return exactly as it did to the first visit.

The terms behind all of this — the flat diagnostic, the written estimate, the scheduling — are on the pricing page, and the questions we get asked most are on the FAQ.

Book a visit

A flat $129 diagnostic covers the visit and the diagnosis. It is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with the work.

You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labor begins. Nothing is opened up on a maybe. Labor is warranted 90 days. Genuine OEM parts are warranted 365 days from the date of installation.
